MAST Consultants Ltd is an independent consultancy providing expert professional advice and associated services within the field of asbestos. Based in Manchester and operating throughout the UK we have over 35 years experience working within the asbestos industry and are ideally placed to assess, manage and help reduce the risk to asbestos containing materials ensuring you are fully compliant with all current legislation and guidance.
Managing and reducing the risk can be as simple as posting signs and securely locking the door or it can include removal, remedial works. MAST Consultants will give you advice and guidance on the most cost effective way to deal with your asbestos issues. Of course if it is to be simply left in situ, then it must be monitored and managed on a regular basis and detailed records maintained.
To help you manage your asbestos MAST Consultants can produce and implement an asbestos management plan to comply with regulation 4 “Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-domestic Premises” of The Controls of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
It should be noted that without a management plan in place you are not complying with current legislation.
In order to put in place an effective asbestos management plan you may need to have your premises surveyed to identify the asbestos as far as reasonably practicable. This may depend on the size and complexity of your premises.

Legislation
The legislation regarding asbestos is clear. Every commercial premises in the UK should by now have been subject to an asbestos survey report and measures taken to manage any materials containing asbestos in accordance with Regulation 4 “Duty to Manage Asbestos in Non-domestic premises” of the “The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006” (CAR 2006).
To comply with Regulation 4 of CAR 2006 you need to produce and implement an effective asbestos management plan. Failure to do so may result in prosecution by the Relevant Enforcing Authority.
